IMGP1684

Not much going on tonight I’m afraid – that work thing gets in the way during the week – but I still try and fit in a little creativity!

There are so many birthdays this week – so I am putting together a quick card and have decided to try some Angelina fibres with my new Clarity Stamps – love it!

As part of my birthday pressie last week I dragged OH to IKEA and this unit is what we came back withIMGP1686  – I’ve roughly put my goodies in there but it is just not organised enough for me yet – but that can wait till I have time!

IMGP1689As you can see I’m taking over the spare room – now any suggestions on how I can get rid of these golf sticks  in the corner – you could get a nice comfy chair in there or another unit??!!!………………………..

GD Spot Funky Fairy Challenge - Touchy Feely!

Technorati Tags: ,
IMGP1667 Some great news - well for me anyhow!
I have been asked to be the Guest designer for Funky Fairies Challenge!  Thanks guys  - it was a great birthday "pressie"!
Here is my card for this weeks challenge – Touchy Feely!IMGP1665
I just love these really funky papers, they are so cheerful - and boy do we need that now!
The papers are from Doodlemental download- ITS FREE – yes - you heard right - get them here and go create!
In fact there are sooooooo many freebies here if you look closely!
Now I'm sure some of you will have noticed that I am the Crazy Cat Woman and this stamp set from Woodware, called Groovy Cats,  just goes so well with these papers.
The textures I have added are flocking, (try not to cough or sneeze, or even breathe heavily when doing this - as I found out!) glossy accents and I distressed the cardstock edges - I love to do this - so therapeutic!

I am so looking forward to seeing every ones touchy feely creations"!  Come on everyone lets go create!

PS I am trying out Windows Live writer – this is an apology in case of errors cos I don't think I’ve quite “cracked” it yet!

day of Rest???

Why is that everything seems to break-down at once?

Its going to be an expensive week – both showers have gone kaput, the washing machine wont drain and the tumble dryer has packed up!

Mind you I cant complain, they are all over 17 years old and have never been a problem! But WHY all go at once!!!!

So , today has been an expensive day – but for another reason – I went to Stamp magic at Doncaster – I wasn't going to spend a lot but then of course you are drawn in – I am a sucker for a stamp and a juicy inkpad!

Onto a challenge, well 8 actually!

 IMGP1679

I have entered this card into 8 challenges: (phew – it took some organising!)

PBSC, Stamping for the Weekend, Cats Corner and Stamp Something all have the theme of Halloween

Crafty Catz wants you to use buttons or brads (brad on the flower)

Lots to Do have a recipe of metal, paint and stamping (charm Twinkling H2O paints and Penny Black stamp from Spooky!

Allsorts theme is a furry friend (cat stamp is just that)

And I have used the sketch from Sketch and Stash!  My new stash are the flowers from Prima – I just love ‘em!

Materials Used

Core’dinations cardstock

Cuttlebug embossing folder

Prima flowers from Hobby House

Charm/chain from Hobby House also

DP’s are from Polkadoodles

Stamps are Penny Black “Spooky”

Off to fill a few hungry tummies!

Man Cards!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - far to many male Birthdays coming up - so I  had a mega session of making "Man" Cards! Probably a mistake cos  - "bring back the glitter and sparkle!",  I'm having withdrawal symptoms!

Thankfully my lovely brand new CD - "Not for Girls" from PolkaDoodles has come in very useful!

This one I am entering for their latest challenge, which is a sketch  - there are 2 circles there if you look hard enough at the card! - little bit of decoupagish!  I also made a box to put it in - I fancied a change from ye olde envelopes!

These are the others I have made - I hope I've not missed anyone out!

Off to do girlie cards now! Glad thats over with! LOL

I love looking at everyones piccies here on a Wednesday as people share their desk spaces, so today  I thought I would do a quick share - so heres mine.
Its not often that theres anything going on, on a Wednesday but today theres a little activity! You might spot my wall - this is where I stick "experiments" that I will probably use later - I did put them in a drawer but its true whay they say "out of sight out of mind" - the wall is filling up!
On my desk is a project where I am making a co-ordinating gift box and card for my niece - shes 18 next month!
Just as I was about to take a piccie in flew this little critter

and made itself at home on my cutting mat - in fact its still there now!
Its gonna have to go.............Jake........help........................LOL (he'll be no use!)

QVC Craft Event 2009

Yesterday myself, plus friend were invited to "QVCs' Craft Event 2009"  in London!
What a great day we had!
My friend, who does make her own cards but is not as addicted to the stash as "little old me", learnt loads and was very pleased with her new stash!

We met loads of wonderful people, made loads of stuff, (took piccies of some!) came away with a bag full of goodies each and got to see some of the new kits. We also did a stamping class with Lindsay Mason :-)
There was so much going on we didn't have time to play at everyones stands  - however thats probably our fault - we talk far too much!
All the craft persenters were there - Dawn Bibby, Rosemary Merry, Leonie Pujol, Amy Shaw plus Catherine Huntley (I have to mention here how lovely and gorgeous they all are, TV does not do them justice) and all the generous folk representing their companies who took the time to let us all play and create with their products!
I particularly like the new Martha Stewart stuff they have coming up - not just punches but loads of great glitters and papercrafting for Christmas.
Kanban had new kits too that are great, I really like their new B&W kits and some new great stamps also :-)
Craftwork cards were there also and I'm already a fan of their stuff - I love their Christmas papers. My friend got really excited here since we all made a Christmas gift bag filled with Quality Street - it was the chocolate that drew her in, but I now know what everyone will be getting for Christmas from her!
Oh, and Dawn Bibby has designed her own range with Kanban - cupcakes galore - anyone who knows me will realise that I am now dribbling!
Oh happy days!  All I can say is, that its a good job its my birthday in 2 weeks, I have a "small" list of stash I now want (should that be need?!) LOL
It was a long day, we didn't get home til 10pm and my legs ache this morning and despite a mini adventure on the circle line in London we both had a great time.
Thank you QVC for inviting us!
